OLED, finally! I've been reading about this for awhile--if I remember correct, the big price bottleneck over the last few years has been the blue crystals/diodes as much as the tech itself. But yeah, once they get over that hurdle I remember some article saying they could be built to any dimensions/size, be no thicker than a piece of paper, and viewable from pretty much any angle.
Woo hoo.

I was thinking the same thing, so much for getting the paper delivered to your daily, just updated your digital one through wireless networking... OHH YEAAHH!
while you're at it, why not go with the english version of the video. I've seen this Japanese news item linked on loads of sites, but a few clicks away on the youtube page is a video twice as long in english...
Heard the main problem with oled tech is longevity, since the glowing part is organic, it deteriorates way fast or so i hear. I wouldnt spent 2grand on a oled tv just yet heh.
Needles: I think they have found a way to make the Red and Green colors last quite a while (I think around 40k hours), but the blue is where the problem still is (I think around 12k hours).

Not sure how much they cost to make and how long they last for but it's really cool.
Might not be able to focus at that distance but its a cool idea. Maybe they'll be able to develop a VR headset that doesnt suck balls nowdays
