I would like to first apologize for how lengthy this post will be. Now, I will take a little bit of time to explain my background and the project's as well. I am 27 years old and have been into game development since I was 13. I started programming roughly 10 years ago and have made many games and engines along the way. My friend CJ approached me with a very interesting game idea, since he knows I work in game development full-time and I already know many talented people. He decided it was time to start a studio and stop working for studios. We decided to put this idea/concept into motion roughly 8 days ago.
It's basically a turn-based arena dueling RPG based in Rome. Think Final Fantasy combat in 2nd century Roman times. Similar to the Gladiator movie (in theme). The game functions similar to Guild Wars as in, there is a town where you meet with other people and chat. You can challenge other people to duels and it will port you into an "Arena" or "Coliseum" where you two will duke it out to the death. The winner will recieve gold and experience and progress in rank. With the gold you are rewarded, you can purchase new armor/weapons.
This is a very "basic" description of what we are doing. Within 8 days I have managed to put together an online playable prototype with placeholder art. Everything is functional from account creation to leveling up. We are looking for artists to create environment art (mainly arenas or coliseums) and a character/item artist. We are willing to pay these artists out of pocket and will provide concept art. Now that the boring descriptions of what we are trying to do is out of the way. On to the content itself.
Here is a few shots of the multi-platform engine I have been working on for a litte over a year. This is what the client is using and is capable of graphically.

Now some game specific content we have managed to finish over the past 8 days. Please keep in mind that everything we are using is placeholder within the prototype, models, UI, sound, music. Not to mention it's not using any engine specific shader effects. None of it is official and does not represent the final look of the game.

It's kind of hard to imagine the final outlook as I am using a dwarf model for testing and the animations and sounds are pretty cheesy but it should give the overall idea of what we are trying to do. The warrior class is basically finished both defensive and offensive builds. However we do need to finish hashing and balancing out the top tier moves.
I am aware I probably left out many details so I will periodically come back and update/change the post.
If you are interested in this project and want to work on environment and/or character art please contact me asap and we can discuss further details.
