Texture ripping

Is there some way to rip texture files from pc games? The game in question is Alice. I started playing it again as i do from time to time and really dig the way some of them were painted. I'd love to see the source images. Anyone know a means to do so or simply a site that specializes in that sort of thing?

No, I don't know if this is like asking for rom links and yes I own a copy of the game, blah blah blah.

I remember an app that was posted that could rip textures and models from anything running in openGL... Cant remember its damn name though.

The game's running on the Quake III engine, you should be able to open the pk3 files with Winzip/rar. I don't know the .ftx image format they used but here's a viewer/converter tool that might be useful - http://www.geocities.com/timessquare/8271/

Typically most games use zip files to store textures and meshes, then they assign it some unique file extension. Look for something called textures.___ and try opening it with winzip. So, using Peppi's suggestion, look for textures.pk3

Winzip can open .pk3s (although you might have to rename it ___.zip, can't recall,) and their textures, if I remember correctly, should be in a standard photoshop ready format of some sort.

The .pk3 files are just renamed zip extensions. The textures are stored as .ftx files and can be converted to .tga's with the texture conversion tools that are in the FAKK2 tools, here:
