Well, the only way at the moment that doesn't involve a bunch of weird stuff (e.g., re-recording them via speaker->line in and such other stuff) is to burn'em to a CD and then rip'em as MP3s. If you have a CD-RW, no problems there I'd guess. Otherwise, you might want to go out and buy one.
Lastly, if you do use iTunes, you can have her play one and authorize your machine with her account.
yeah just play them on itunes / quicktime or put them on an ipod. It's hardly rocket science.
Also you can setup itunes to rip as mp3. Where did she get the files originally? If she bought them from itunes, you are talking about piracy Which isn't welcomed on polycount.
Ah right, I forgot to mention we tried the burn to cd bs but that names all the songs track 01-12 so you lose all the useful naming info. Is there a way around this I don't mind wasting the cd's as long as I get the song names. I should also mention she has a mac and I have a pc.
Yeah it only does mp4 to mp3, I need m4p to mp3. There is a ghetto round about whey of going from m4p to mp4 to mp3 but it's a lot of work, it would probably take less time to just rename the files by hand.

Actually, the way you said is the way I do it. I use 2 programs. It's not that time consuming.
