[ASK] How to animate cape/ fur ??

Hi,
i want to ask how to animate cape/ fur/ feather in 3dmax.
right now i'm doing a birdman model & want to animate it.

but, i don't understand how to animate the fur, so it will folloe the char movement automatically & naturally.

(if the char jump the feather will go down, etc2)

thx....

if you use the fur plugins, then the fur will react to any fields you put in the scene(ie. gravity, wind etc.)
you basically, apply the fur modifier(if i remember right) to the model, then add a force as mentioned above. if there is a cape, i tend to not use cloth as it is expensive and doesnt usually go at real-time too well. instead i would use bone driven dynamics. where you rig the cape with some bones and have a simulation drive the motion of the bones.

You'll need to run simulations on both after you animate your character. It will be hard to get working correctly they are two of the hardest things to pull off in Max, being new to it is going to make that harder. Good luck and like Eric suggested all the tutorials and explanations you need are included in the help files, F1.
