Anybody been catching it? Truly the most amazing, inspirational TV I've seen in a long time. The old adage of 'truth is stranger than fiction' definitely reigns supreme here. If you have HD it's not to be missed:
Yeah, I've been recording every episode so far
Absolutely stunning show. Five years in development. Some of the camera men had to endure unbearable circumstances to get these shots. Truly breathtaking.
I agree that it is quite amazing. I also liked the Discovery Atlas show they had on Discovery HD for a while. Is it just me, or does the Discovery Channel easily top every other HD channel in terms of color and quality?
Aye, it's stunning. Marine was right - we had it a year ago with David Attenborough narrating. It's on constant repeat on one of the UK Living/ UK History channels.
Do you folks get the 'making of' parts at the end of every episode?
Dont have discovery channel so I havent seen it but If you like that sort of thing look out for a film called 'Baraka' in HD its pretty amazing, same genre.
Rick, yeah we got those making-off pieces as well. Some great insights to the development of the show. I particularly liked the one on 'pole to pole', where they showed some air balloon apparatus. Poor camera man go flown right into a tree! doh!

In the UK there is one HD channel and the play Planet-Earth on repeat 24 hours a day.
Brilliant stuff.
