MixMap Workaround - Advice Please!

Hello again guys!

Im currently trying to think up a way of using a mix map but having 3 different textures in the specific area instead of what seems like the set limit of 2. This is probably something a 'noob' would ask but then again, thats me all over! smile.gif So please if you know a good way to add a path layerd over the dirt and grass as illustrated in the screenshot let me know. Thankyou!

Program : 3dsmax

PS : ignore shoddy textures, this is a test. wink.gif

Add another "Mix" map into one of the existing Mix map slots.
Then you can Mix the dirt and grass in one slot, and Mix that map with a path texture in the other slot.

Nice one MoP, very much apreciated! smile.gifI will give that way a go, would the same work if I add a composite map into one of the mix map slots out of curiosity, that way I *think* the path would look less faded letting me position it better with cleaner edges instead of a faded look that a 256 mix map would do. (256 is my limit by the way). Cheers!

Quick test on the path, only problem im seeing is the tileable brickwork is all facing the same way and cant find a way to make it follow the path, so might have to go with gravel or something. Anyway ignore the composite question, dont need to do that now smile.gif Thanks for your help again

Yeah just go with gravel, it'd probably look more believable anyway smile.gif

If you were gonna go with brick like that, I wouldn't use a Mix map, I'd just model the pathway out of quads and use Face Mapping to quickly set up the tiling brick texture, that way it'd follow the curve of the path. And you also wouldn't need a Mix map for doing it that way.
