I don't know what all is mentioned in that article, but the rumor is that it will have the HD-DVD built in and it will have an HDMI port... and of course the larger HDD.
I just got my 360 at Christmas and when I heard about the new 360 the features I am interested in are quieter fan and dvd drive. I haven't run out of space on my current hard drive and I don't care about live action movies in high def.

Fucking hell, if they release one now with HDMI support but offer existing 360 owners nothing, I am going to break some necks.

you obviously missed the HD DVD addon box right? That outputs 1080p via component or vga when plugged into a normal 360, $200.

I own it. My issue is that I already have three other component devices, so I have to use a switch to get everything into my TV's two component ports or downgrade to S-Video. Meanwhile, I have an HDMI port on my set with nothing plugged into it at all.
We talked about the VGA cable a while back, and it turns out that the VGA input on my TV doesn't have associated audio inputs. I guess the presumption is that you're going to port the audio to an external receiver or have speakers native to your computer (which is what I expect the vast majority of VGA input users are hooking up.) Anyway, I don't have a separate sound system, so I had to rule that out.
Speaking of Xbox360 and it's video output, I'm also a bit horked that the VGA out is purely analog, and that there's no digital option. Making the cable DVI with a VGA adapter wouldn't have killed Microsoft; instead, I have year old Xbox and a year old Apple Cinema display, but can't connect them.
Yeah, it really is baffling why Microsoft STILL hasn't released a DVI adapter/cable for the 360. DVI ports are far more universally supported than HDMI, and they are just as digital. Most computer monitors these days have DVI ports, as well as most HD-televisions. Ditto for video cards. It just doesn't make sense not to have a DVI cable for the 360. Perhaps there is some manner of copy-protection issue?
Very tempted myself, I never understood why there wasn't an option for a black one myself, that console will sell like hot cakes. hdmi, 120gb, black!? Yes Please.
Who needs a 120 GB drive? I have a 10 GB, and I have only used 1 GB of it. From what I read, you can't transfer your own videos onto the hard drive, anyone know if it is possible?
My guess is they have something planned that may require a larger drive... like downloading games and maybe movies. I wouldn't be surprised if there are hacks that exist to allow you to transfer videos also. I don't have an XBox, so I don't know personally

DVI and HDMI are the same exact thing, except HDMI has copy protection and sound included in the cable. You can buy a cheap HDMI to DVI adapter off ebay for like 10 bucks. I use one to go from my computer's DVI out to my TV's HDMI port.

This doesn't solve the issue on a lot of Sony TV's, including mine. It ONLY supports 1080p through HDMI. MS had better f'n release an HDMI cable for those of us with older boxes.

I know of atleast 4 people who constantly run to the bottom of their hard-drive cos they're too lazy to delete all those HD trailers off their Hard-Drive, also that south park in HD episode alone takes up 1GB, then there's all the demos which also average on 1gb and all your additional add-on packs, music/picture storage. It all adds up pretty fast if ur too lazy to keep your shit tidy.
I'm pretty sure there'll be enough content in the coming future to warrant a 120gb Hard-drive too.

I'll buy this version and trade in my 360 after I get an HDTV.
