Environment Artist
We are currently looking for a full time Environment Artist to dazzle the world with their skills.
As the makers of the Massively Multiplayer Online hits City of Heroes and City of Villains, we are looking for the artist who can make our super powers truly special. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, read on!
Everyday you could be:
Work in a team environment developing NextGen titles for console and PC
Offer high level support and artistic vision to a small group of artists on an ongoing basis
Independently research and develop best case scenarios for art asset development
Dictate art style and vision within the specific discipline upstream to Lead Artist and Development Directors
Using 3D Studio Max, Photoshop and proprietary software to create NextGen art assets
Demonstrate the ability to consistently create compelling and aesthetically pleasing environments in any given style while adhering to polygon and console memory budget constraints
Have experience using proprietary editors, software and tools
Be skilled at modeling supporting assets with or without concepts/designs, and display good modeling techniques and practices
Demonstrate solid, efficient UV unwrapping and mapping skills
Be able to create custom materials and all associated maps (bump, normal, parallax, spec, etc.) for new or existing assets
Things we'd like to see:
2 to 5 years in game development
2 to 8 game titles shipped
Strong portfolio, demo reel or website demonstrating high quality art renderings
3 to 5 years 3D Studio Max, Maya, XSI, or other 3D software with a focus of applicants specific discipline
3 to 5 years of Photoshop in a Windows based environment
Ability to work within a style including a style set by another artist
4 year degree recommended
