I heard legends, but discreet told in a press conference that they would still need to work on allowing to dysplay viewports with shaded polygons in gouraud shading ! can you imagine that ?
thanks a lot... I was watching tutorials and instructor gave a short notion about the plugin which I have trouble to locate...
If you don't mind, can you recommend good max plugin sites, for future reference?
I can't stand how it always reverts back to vert mode, regardless of what mode you are in the main window.
And when the hell is Max going to finally make the hotkeys match up with the regular hotkeys for move, scale, rotate, etc in the UVW editor?? Did they "add" this in Max 9?
No, but you can assign your own hotkeys... MY GOD what where they thinking when they made the customize menu!? They must have been doubly nuts to let you save that set up as default so it loads when max starts.
Stop torturing yourself and just set up the hotkeys. Heh you can even load your old keyboard hotkeys into a new version of max when you upgrade making the time you have to set up the keyboard hotkeys about 5min tops from now until the end of Max.
Kind of silly to wait and pine over standard hotkeys version after version when you can just do it yourself...
Max can have some funky names for some things but the good thing is you can save that out and never have to hassle with it again! wewt!
I also suggest setting "walk thru mode" to use WASD controls. Helps a TON to be able to fly around your scene and even a single model like it was a first person shooter. Use "[" & "]" to control the speed, I also bind Q to toggle walk and run. I have turn on Walk thru mode bound to Shift-C. Walk thru mode works in perspective view or on any free camera view that doesn't have a look at target.
No. I just changed some of the default options in his panel. There's probably a way to change it though, if you play with the code some. Did you want Face sub-object mode instead?
nah, I just want it to match up with what you actually have selected in the viewport. Regardless of what mode you are in, as soon as you open the editor it defaults to vertex mode. Not such a huge deal, but after closing and opening a thousand times a day it gets annoying.
The buttons don't update either when you switch sub-object mode via hotkeys.
Overall it's great. The alignment and rotate tools alone are more helpful than anything else I've played with.

Edit - nm...the reason I couldn't find it before is because it isn't called "Move, rotate, scale..." like it is in the menu bar.
Of course, it was obviously called "Texture vertex scale, Texture vertex rotate, Texture vertex move".
Obviously!

The version on chugnuts website is really old.
He updated it at work, but never released to the public
The script still works though. I edited it some, changing the default status of my fav rollouts & checkboxes... you can d/l my edit here.
