Not to bash the artwork, cause it looks nice, but please help me understand how this isn't THQ ripping off the Battlefield franchise? I remember getting contacted about working for this studio a while back, so I did some investigation, and it just smacked too much of a direct rip off. Was that just a poor initial impression?
I believe this is being made by former Trauma Studios/Desert Combat folks, so I don't think you can call it a rip-off. They were hands on with the Battlefield franchise.
Actually doc_rob hit the nail on the head! The core team for Kaos Studios was made up of the former Trauma Studios/ Desert Combat team and was an integral part of making BF2 what it was. FFOW is essentially taking what has come before to the next level in terms of both the single player and multiplayer experience. What I can say from a game play point of view is that FFOW has its own chaotic feel to it and will surprise a number of people once its released.
Yes.
Hopefully, Frontlines will be better than BF2. There are too many things in that game that irk the hell outta me.

I hope so too, but from what I can gather from the gameplay footage, it looks like it's going to play quite differently. Easiest way to see this is how fast the players move. BF2 is by no means slow-paced, but Frontlines looks to be quite a bit more hectic. I'm getting a "multiplayer Black" vibe.
BF2 for all its merits had ass-atrocious balance. You know somethings wrong when a single player flying a large grey brick can bring a single server to its knees. : ) It was bullshit.
Looks very nice though! Can't wait to read more about it in the news soon.

or the fact that it had many bugs, one of them being that every once in a while your team mates would appear to be enemies on your screen and of course you shoot enemies...
this was later fixed in a large patch that later after installed would cause my game to freeze... oh the memories...
but bf2 was a fun game when everything worked right.
Awesome to hear about this game, I noticed it on THQ's lineup but didn't see much info. Sounds like BF2 on a much grander scale, but is the single player nothing more than bot battles on multiplayer maps or is there a smidge of effort put into the story and how you progress from stage to stage?
