Well, I figured I might as well get off my lazy ass and do some modeling at home. Hopefully I'll have enough time to bang this fucker out!
My buddy Pete at work is doing the concept, and may lend a hand texturing or something if I find my time runs too thin. He's a wicked cool guy, here's his blog (not sure if he's got a site with more stuff or not): http://gikandi.blogspot.com/
I let him go wild with whatever he wanted with the concept, and this is what we've got so far - I think he's going to polish up the details a bit tonight.
Basic idea is some fat mutant dude, with a trained falcon/hawk. The hawk got some big muthafuckin' cannon/gun/something on it's back. He has his arm behind his back (with a flaconer's gauntlet on) with the bird perched on top, he's naked with some war paint on him. Little stumpy freak legs, toes all curled in and useless.
All right - let loose with the comments & critiques! Tell us the idea sucks, I suck, your mom sucks, whatever. I'd like to ge the concept down and start modeling by the end of the week to give me enough time to finish. Gauss, I know you've been cranking out the editorials, so let's have it!

concept could use a little more sauce but i'm sure that's forthcoming. right now its got a lot of expressiveness and more than few good ideas for poise and pose.

Reminds me of some sort of revised mancubus.
