Yeah, man. I had pretty low expectations of that remake but it actually looks great!
It's diverging a long way from the original source and Arnie movie, but that's could be a good thing. Apparently Mars doesn't feature in this version at all.
They do like that BLARRRP! noise in trailers these days.

If Mars isn't featured then it's much closer to the original short story(if you haven't already you should read it, it's not very long). I like the old total recall movie but I can't say that it's as good as it can be. I'm not a big fan of Farrell but I think he can do a better job than Arnold when it comes to creating believable characters(unless it's a emotionless robot of course), and Farrell fits the description of Quail, the short story protagonist, better.
Also, the city scene at the beginning is just amazing!

In the short story they try to implant memories into Quail's head but they find out that the stuff they try to put in is already in there. He discusses the "problem" with the people at recall and never leaves for an adventure on Mars. Instead, Recall tries to fix this problem by replacing the memories with new ones but the same problem happens again, the new memories are already there. It's more of a paranoid psychological drama in true Philip K Dick style and doesn't involve much action. The old Arnold movie has this ambiguity though.
If this movie is more true to the original story isn't very important to me, I just hope it's not a dumb action movie and that the end product looks as good as in the trailer.

I presume the mouse can now triangulate and work out the exact position of whatever makes a noise, sort of like a GPS system.
Because frankly, it's not going to be able to hunt anything normally with an ear the size of it's body on its back.
