Dominance War II - AHotHandSandwich & Bashomaru

Hello fellow PC soldiers. My friend Mike and I have decided to join the fight. Here's the early concept by Basho.

He's kinda of a sly, quick commander who just happens to have a laser-guided knife and a monocle. Hoping to do something with a Team Fortress 2/Incredibles twist to it. Feel free to give feedback. Colors and more to follow. Thanks. <font color="green"> </font> <font color="white"> </font>

Cool sketch! He's really stylized and cartoony, something that might not fit with the rest of the entries. But you know what? Fuck em. They'll all be wishing they had laser pointers on their knives.

He seems to be a blade/close combat specialist making the grenades and mini-bombs seem out of place. Explosions are not synonymous with "sly". How about some throwing knives/stars or maybe some other crazy thing you can think of. Some more sketching to show his legs would be nice. Don't you dare give him generic pants and army boots!

Those shoulder straps and the chest-pouch totally need to have their straps / pull-tabs done up to look like lil faces doin' !

I like! Real sense of cool in this guy. Im not too sure about the hat thou. Its like the Hat and monocol ( spelling?) dont sit well, with the gear and the job this guy does... I could see this guy with a eye patch, woolen hat, ( that would tie into his turtle neck) and facial hair, badass side burns or something.. Neverthenless, very cool design.

Haven't seen it in the rules so far, but I know cartoony was forbidden for last year's War. You might want to ask around whether or not it is allowed this year.

Thanks for the kind words all. We will be adding the PolyCount Smile to the shoulder pad and the bomb skulls will be switched, too. As far as the bombs not being sly, it's 3106 so we figured that weapon technology may have produced some sort of implosive "quiet bomb." We're hoping that the style is okay. I've read through the rules in DominanceWar.com and I can't find any style requirements but if any of you see something that would get us burned, please let me know. Thanks again.

Sorry to double post but at least I've got an update. Worked on the cranium this weekend. Still not sure on whether to normal map or not. Anyhow, here it is.

Still not finished. I've got some weird shading around the eye and I'll probably change up the ear some. C/C welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

from the concept I got an impression that the face was very chiseled, with sharp edges, sort of like in the Ants movie... could be wrong though.

Here are some quick colors. There are some things I wanted to do differently (process-wise) but couldn't for a bunch of reasons (setting up the image, too far into it, etc.). But I think he looks pretty badass.

great stuff! i really like it! He does have a lot of the same green colour, and becouse of that it doesn't seem that special anymore... maybe also add some dark blue here and there? or some more red? (now he's mainly green and grey)

Sorry for the late work. I got a new computer with vista and it f8cked up my version of max so I've been searching for fixes. Couldn't find any so I had to go back to the old machine. Anyhow, was able to pump this out last night. Trying for a super crunch and hoping to still have a chance at finishing. Needs much more but at least the basic shape it out there. about 1900 tris right now. C+C greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Looking good, the legs are nice. The arms look a bit tube-like though, I'm sure it's just wip though...Also the back of the head should be a bit wider, his face looks a bit strange in the front view.
