Ive been trying to learn how to get my models into unreal tournament 2004 but ive come upon a frustrating problem. Ive read numerous tutorials and it looks like i am doing everything correct but its not working. I am using 3d max 7 and i export my file as an aseII and it imports fine into the editor but when i try and build the map it gives me a visual C++ Runtime error. When trying to build the map with only static meshes that come with the game it runs fine but as soon as i put any of meshes in the editor it will not build. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? ive been looking at different forums for this question and i havent found an answer yet. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

First, if you're importing it into the myLevel pack, which embeds it directly into youre level at the expense of file size, try saving the level.ut2 file before you build. If you're importing it into a seperate .usx pack, unreals static mesh pack format, make sure you save the static mesh pack before you rebuild the level. To save the pack, just click file save within the static mesh browser.
