Not sure about the scarring. It fits with the idea of her being wild and riding (and fought on her native planet?) an alien cat. The eye is THE most used place for a scar however, and it's not very unique. Besides, I think giving her a set of large cat-like eyes might fit in very well.
Keep it up! I think it's great that despite being an environment artist, you're still entering.
Thanks for the crit, definitely don't want to go down the un-unique road, tis a horrible place. I'll take out the scar and give her some better wear and tear in other areas, and I like the idea of the cat eyes.
Yeah, I'm liking the pug-y face too now, lookin' at it, the second one is too normal to me. It doesn't have a pouch, I was trying to fuse her thigh in there, with it tapering off at the knee into the cats body..with limited success. I'm thinkin it may be best to leave her seperate, but keep the pug-cat.

Well, they were supposed to be the same beast, so I guess they would go at the same time.
Go, go, cat latrine!
Nice style to the concept though, it'd be nice if your friend did a new one that matches the brief
