welcome to polycount, Pimento--how about getting some sketches or thumbnails up in the meantime? a model WIP shouldn't come for a while, if you ask me... so let's not let this topic post go to waste!
Here is an update on my characters head.
I wanted more of an unstopable creature. I really like this look.
*note* I have not worked in the head to the body yet, i just want to keep everyone upto date with where i am at on my concept and to get ideas. I just really enjoyed working on his head so i spent much more time then i did the body so far.
the 2nd head looks more intimidating but the first more emotionless.. Emotionless = Evil/Eery
hmm.. I'd go for the first head, just because it looks a bit more original. The 2nd head seems a bit familiar.
either way,
Keep it up!
Yeah, i see what you mean.
its very common this style of head/helmet.
I just think it looks cool so i made one like it. But ya.. the first one just looks really plain to me and im not very talented in concept design yet.. so i struggle.
go for it. and as far as a manner of resolving the legs, zig when people expect you to zag. which is to say, go against the flow... spaceboots are always popular, and this time round crab/spider/multi-leg configs are also popular, so i'd say avoid those. go something crazy like hand-feet, or feet that narrow to a point, or some such nuttiness, and then you can adjust the rest of the design to follow suit. an interesting, unique weapon (and head design, while we're at it) shall also serve.
on an unrelated note, try painting with a harder brush/higher opacity. you're sorta caught in limbo with some of the mark-making--harder brushes can help you resolve details with more confidence.
so hey man, let's get it together! not a whole lot of time left, so get the concept together and get to modeling... and keep the thread updated.

Any ideas for the legs or boots?
