let's make it sooner rather than later, eh? this isn't like the other forums where you make a half hearted declaratory post and then just let it sink into oblivion, and then look back three weeks later at your no-replies post on the third index page and mumble, "oh yeah, dominance war... i was going to do that..."
THUMBNAILS, CONCEPTS! the clock is burning!
Ok, so here's a quick concept. Goin for an assasin type character. Haven't drawn in awhile and its really showing. Not completely happy with this but I wanted to get something up. Trying to keep it fairly simple in hopes that I'll be able to finish it. Crits are welcome, though I'll probly end up deviating from this concept as I go and new ideas come up.
I finally had some extra time to sit down and really try and flesh something out. I'm liking where this is going a whole lot more. Still need to work on the boots and a few other things. Let me know what you think.
i think the upper back is working well. maybe work on the flow of the 'ribs' out of the 'spine'. clarifying where the shoulder blade is might help also. the buttocks look a detached from the rest of the back and a little too 'roundly'.
Nah really though im liking the sleek, organic look. Might i suggest some additions to improve the sillouhette though. Right now the shape is kind of boring and nothing really jumps out at me. I see you have some small claws. maybe go further with those and create a sleek clawed gauntlet that fits with the rest of the style you have going. Also the legs dont fit the scheme of the upper torso. Ad some of the grey bone stuff and maybe some green glowiness like you have on the top half.
nice work
Thanks for the replys guys. I'm thinking about tweaking the proportions out more for a better sillouhette. I want to make her really thin and spindly looking. I also want to give her really long pointed spike fingers. I started blocking out my base sculpting mesh, but I'll try and post some quick thumbs to show where I plan to go with the design.
Quick sketch on more where I plan to go proportion wise and a little on the boots and "undies". I plan to have the suit kind of interwoven with the metal parts kind of like they're being consumed by the body suit as if its living.
Here is my latest update. I started sculpting my high poly version. I started a few head sculpts but I'm not satisfied with any of them at this point so I'll post again as soon as I hit something I like. Let me know what ya'll think.
nice sculpt so far, but nudity is frowned on for this contest, so cover those nipples up if you want a chance at winning a prize.
otherwise keep going, but it might get you disqualified
anyway i like the sharpness and curves on this, keep it up!
Haha she's not supposed to be naked. If you look at the concept she's not showing any skin except for her mouth. It's just a really tight body suit, or sculpted ie, batman. It'll probly be more obvious textured, but I'll tone it down. Thanks for the feedback.
i'd also like to step in and voice my appreciation with how far you've come with this design and how nice the high poly sculpt is looking. i'm glad you moved the green ball in the torso just a little higher up, it helps the overall read of weight and balance in the figure. i've no doubt she'll end up looking miiighty scary once she's finished
What up all. I got a head sculpt that I'm mostly happy with. The only part that will get seen with the helmet on is the mouth but I plan to make the front part of the mask removeable so I can do a beauty shot with the face showing. Crits always welcome.
something about her face seems a little wierd, i cant quite figure it out right now, but give it a look over for proportions. the body sculpt is around the level of amazing, i like it.
very promising stuff man--keep hammering away and polishing. the neck looks a little odd; the head is a bit bolted-on looking at the moment, but i'm sure you'll iron that out. keep updating!
Hey all. Here's a small update. Unfortuneatly, due to some recent events that have arisen I probably won't be able to finish this for the deadline. More important matters must be attended to. I'm pissed that I have to dedicate my time else where but its more important in the long run. I'll make an attempt at finishing, but its not looking promising. Anyway, here's a little progress. Thanks to everyone who's commented and critiqued, its always much appreciated. Cheers
