My Zangief redesign...Finished up his maps...has spec, normal, diffuse 1024x. These are viewport captures with 3 spots. Not super happy with how it turned out, but learned a butload working on this character. the polycount is 7k. Crits are welcome
Looks pretty cool overall, but your lowpoly mesh has way too many polys spent just smoothing things out rather than adding any real detail. There's no way you need that many loops in the arms, and especially not that many radial subdivisions in the legs and arms, you could probably cut the polygon count in half with no real visible difference.
That said, I like the proportions (except maybe legs a little long?), the hands look cool and he has a good surly demeanour
Still, sounds like it was a good learning experience and I'm sure you'll be able to make use of the knowledge to create something which looks even better!
