Join the Cryptic team where you can influence and illustrate a fanciful universe that will be recreated in a 3D universe for console and PC. We supply an environment that allows your art skills to flourish. All you need to do is bring a strong knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator (maybe even a a little 3DSMax experience). Armed with your knowledge of of color theory, anatomy, and environment, you will help to invent and defifine the Cryptic Universe. What are you waiting for? Get on stage with an all-star cast of designers, engineers, and artists to produce that next blockbuster show! Things we'd like to see:
Must have very strong figure and life drawing skills, including skill with lighting, perspective, anatomy, color theory, and architectural design
Must be able to sketch rough ideas very quickly and clearly
Be able to conceptualize worlds, characters and events for multiple designs and multiple Lead Artists
Be able to sketch rough ideas very quickly and clearly
Be able to conceptualize characters, and environments for multiple projects, genres and Lead Artists
Proficiency with Photoshop
Must be prepared to create IP consistent content or brainstorm original content depending on the project needs
1 to 3 years in game development
1 to 4 game titles shipped
Strong portfolio, demo reel or website demonstrating high quality art renderings
Ability to work within a style including a style set by another artist
Have a full understanding of MS Office and be able to write coherent documentation
Must have a strong understanding or training in fundamental art skills including color theory, lighting, anatomy, composition, design, sculpting, sketching, or painting
Ability to efficiently communicate orally and in the written form
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Ability to take direction from Lead Artist
Strong understanding of industry related technical terms (Mip mapping, multi-pass, textures, character skinning, joints, skeleton, shader, specular maps, HRD etc.)
Ability to give and receive very concise and constructive feedback to peers
Ability to work within a schedule and deliver assets as required on time
Posses a strong attention to detail
Mastery of MS Office
4 year degree recommended
