For those who don't know, Scott Ian is the rhythm guitarist for Anthrax (the band my handle comes from). Someone recorded him trying to play his own song on Guitar Hero II. Funny shit http://www.dovetail.tv/app.html?contentId=1606&j=1
That's what I noticed also... you can see him try to 'fret' it a few times. He did start rocking it for a while there though.
I thought the funniest part was when he starts using the excuse that he's a rhythm player and not lead
That, and my daughter played this soung better than him, which I know it's different than playing the real thing, but it's still amusing to me
Heh - if the Tigers had actually made a close series of it, that would make for a great conspiracy theory. Seeing as how they got knocked out 4-1, not so much. Zumaya lost one game, but wasn't a factor in the other three Detroit defeats.
Yeah, they kept making some of the dumbest errors. I couldn't believe how good they played during the season and how much they stunk it up in the end At least won the one game I got to see last season
It was funny to hear about the Guitar Hero injury though, back when it happened.
video doesnt work for me. tho i tried guitar hero in a game store a couple months back, cholden was there watching me play it, and the video and sound was out of sync, not really enough that you could easily tell just by looking,, but it was almost imposible o hit any notes.. and i've beaten the game on my home system, so i know i should have beena able to hit some
Rhinokey >> Certain TV's do play it out of sync (TV's problem). There's an option in the game to fix it (or at least reduce the problem) but of course anyone running a store probably has no clue about that.
We've started playing GH at work during lunch and after hours. I was skeptical at first, but this the funnest game I've ever played. And I've played guitar on and off for about a decade. It feels very close to the real thing, and they set up the 5 notes to closely follow the music. It's not a guitar simulator, it's a rock star simulator...and that is awesome. I was at Best Buy last night, and got into a competition with an 8 year old kid playing War Pigs. I'm addicted. I did rather well my first time playing. I expected better from Scott. :P
I think its better since fucking up has a direct consequence, the tune gets all garbled and you feel like a noob. consequently theres more reward for getting it right

Yeah, definitely! I've played GH2 a few times at a friend's house and the intro to Sweet Child O' Mine absolutely shamed me. I couldn't help but wince each time I screwed up one of the phrases.
Friggin' hilarious.
It's an addictive game, reminds me of Frequency on the PS2 as well. You had to rotate around this tube hitting the notes in time to get the song to play, also highly addictive.
I find it more interesting to watch people either suck or do quite well. Perfect runs are boring to watch because, well, you know exactly what it's going to look like. Someone struggling and missing a few here and there is more entertaining for some reason.

Lol! Either that or they've been pulling a Milli Vanilli for the past decade or so.
When I hear a note coming, my fingers try to go to the "real" frets as opposed to one of the few buttons.
I'm a relatively decent guitarist, and according to the few times I've played guitar hero, I'm pretty bad at the game.

You could see that was happening to Scott Ian.

no idea if its old news

but Guitar Hero might have cost the Detroit Tigers the world series.
(me = baseball geek)

And if anyone wants to see the complete opposite of Scott Ian, check this out: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5536585688154354135&hl=en

I haven't even 5*'d that song yet
It's great fun, so i'm not complaining
Isn't Guitar hero just DDR

Yes...it's just DDR, but without the dancing.
