here is an aardvark i've been working on lately:
the textures are just photobased for now... (and yes, i know about the feet being really not detailed and cloned, but that's becouse i only had one pic.) i'll draw my own textures some other time. So what do you guys think?
C&C's are most welcome!

Probably over poly'd around the eyes.
Not too bad, and I suspect that he is an small ambient critter so we really wouldn't ever get that close to his feet anyway.
Crits:
- The texture is very photochopped. Try running some different filters on it and see what happens.
PhotoShop > Filters > Other > Min or Max set to 1px. Overlay it once and set the opacity to 1-2
- Check out some fur/hair painting tutorials. Knowing how to paint a good texture will help you go far.
- Rick is right the texture is strong enough to carry the eye detail you could remove those polys unless you where planning on making it blink or something, even then you could probably cut a bunch out and make a floating eyelid.
Not too shabby
i've been looking at some fur painting tuts but it didn't work for me yet.. will have to practice it. you guys know any good fur painting tuts?
