Wasn't the film Casshern based on Gatchaman also? I'm pretty sure there is a scene in the film where you see the old school helmet. Pretty good flick regardless. I'll be keeping an eye on this one as I am digging the look of the new TMNT stuff.

Casshern was based off an old 70's anime of the same name

I guess they do look kind of similar, but the gatcha guys have capes and bird like visors and casshern has a helmet and a robot dog
