After
finishing the game's first zombie, I've started working on the main character. He's a vietnam vet turned high school janitor. In the proof-of-concept level we're building, the player starts in a fortified town center and has to fight off several waves of zombies using whatever tools he can find. When the zombies attacked, joe lapsed into psycho war vet mode, and has since been fending them off by himself. He'd been building up a stash of home made weapons since vietnam (because he's crazy), so the player has all kinds of zany macguyvered bombs and guns available. His outfit is his janitor uniform with his old army coat and helment worn over it. Anyway here's the concept and the model so far.
The hands are the same ones I made for the zombie, slightly modified.

dont know the names of all that muscles but I guess that this also tells you what I mean:
Bring on the texture
Look'n cool, I like the fun style
Eric: I just shortened the legs a bit, the torso proportions stayed the same
Aesir: I think I'm gonna leave em like this right now... easy enough to experiment with proportions like that after the char's "done" if it needs it
Ultra:
Hammered out a normal map in mudbox (with some photoshop nvidia action for other details) and some other stuff. No spec map yet. The hands are still meh WIP and I haven't really touched the shoes yet. Otherwise... omg crits pls lol
I finished up the shoes and gave him a pack of cigs... what do you guys think? Main character material here?
needs some dirts , broken clothes (t-shirt) and the helmet.
HOT STUFF.
I still want to add some details to the backpack, some rips and other wear-and-tear. I hand painted some occlusion into the texture, mostly on the pack but a little on the character too... think it's working? Backpack still looks a little muddy to me...
overall an awesome job from concept to fruition
looks awesome man
Please also don't use colored backgrounds, or at least ones that saturated, it hurts the ability to focus on the model itself.
