after talkin to lupus a while back, while he was makin his lictor, he got me all excited and I started makin a Carnifex. had to put it aside for a while due to graduation n other things. But i'm workin on him again, figured i'd share
pinch it till it hurts baby!
Although it might've been better if you started off with a hard-edged highpoly mesh from 3dsmax or whatever prog your using.
thanks for the comments guys, yea i definitely agree that a lot of it isn't as sharp as it could be.
I'm actually havin a problem with mudbox right now, if anyone else has had the problem i'd much appreciate the help.
It lags out to the point where navigating around the viewport goes at like 2fps at only 350 to 400k polies displaying
I have an athalon 64bit 3400 processor and 3 gig of RAM so i'm fairly sure it's not my system (that and i can get up to around 3.5-4 million polies in zbrush before it lags this bad)
I really really like the sculpting tools in mudbox though and I really wanna figure this out. any help would be hot.
looks awesome, however, I'm not liking those cracks at the spikes. They stop too abruptly, I would recommend you do some subtle pinching at the ends of them to make them look more natural.
Right now you only have z deformations. You need some X and Y movement. Paint areas frozen, so you can use the move tool to make overlaps, and try to really get ledges to overlap the underlying area in places. It makes for a much more realistic surface.
