It looked super awesome, seriously. The art was all crazy stylized, and the buildings were all tipsy and shit.
I wanted that game.
Anyone know what happened to it? http://screenshots.teamxbox.com/gallery/1128/Metronome/p1/
Go.
Look.
NAO
It seems it's still alive. There is a 'New site and trailer coming soon' message on the dev site that was put up earlier this month. But the silence over the game is a bit iffy. - http://www.tarsier.se/metronome/
After Banjo Kazooie it's the game I'm looking forward too the most.
I think until they manage to find a publisher/funding, they're just self funding the project off money that the studio is making from their outsourcing bussiness.
I've been following this one for a while, I love the Smoking Octopus design. All of it is so interestingly stylized, and they're definitely putting in some great use of the Reality Engine.
Those guys have attended the school im now attending (it was even a school project) and the last time i heard anything (a loooong time ago) they said something like...
"Everyone says it´s cool, everyone want´s it but no publisher wants to pay for it. They want to release it but not help us get it finished."
I know they are making some kind of tech demo right now though. Link is below, sorry for the swedish. If interested i guess i could translate it for you but im lazy and assume nobody would want that
Metronome uses the Reality engine, which was purchased and subsequently closed by Epic Games. The lead developer of the engine now works on the Unreal Engine.
It was a wonderful engine, while it lasted, hopefully metronome will actually release, since it seems many of the titles original scheduled for Reality engine release changed to UE3.
hey fmnoor. where can I find that on the site. I looked around and cant find it at all and your link just goes back to the main site. the lack of english is probably causing most of my trouble.
Holy shit! Just reading the 'necropost' made me realise that there are people waiting for this since 2006.
Well I hope some might be glad to hear that it's still up and running.
Definetly looks intriguing.

IT would be a very good cult hit, though...
WHo knows, i'm usually wrong.
Its unfortunate its using a Dead engine.

Huh? What does that mean exactly?
It probably has no working game play, bar traversing levels. Yet another beautiful ruse, all too common.

Apparently it's not dead yet!

I absolutely love the art and imagination in this game, so news that they still really want it to happen makes me happy. Go Tarsier!
