1062 tris so far.
Decided to start something fun based on an old record cover Dur23 had laying around his apartment. We're both gonna take a swing at texturing this duder. I want to keep him under 1500 total, but I'm not gonna be too rigid. Gonna have a 256, but I'm planning some crazy reuse, inspired by the texture tag thread.

Who is that guy/girl?
Strange fellow
Looking good, looking forward to the textures. Are you going to give him a large bow-tie like in the pic?
nice choice of subject
For some reason he's looking a bit meatier than he should be.
looking forward to see what you guys come up with.
seems like his "skirt" is a little long on your model
What's funny is that I had no idea who he was till I saw the album cover. I still have never heard any of his stuff, hahaha.
and here was me thinking there was nothing worse than mimes... now there's falsetto-singing, plastic-tuxedo-wearing, futuristic-retro-punk mimes!

lol, that pretty much describes every aspect of him.
edit: BEN HURRY UP AND TEXTURE HIM!

LAME!
Steady as usual, awaiting some color
use more polys there! ;D
Looking awsome!
Cool work mate, I luv this oldschool stuff, ... U know XD
One thing still : I noticed on your last models and textures that you seem to have a tendency to 'force' details in. As an exemple you , well, 'forced' an eyeball rendering into the face texture by having the round ball, the 1pix highlight aso.
I think that at such a resolution you could maybe let these details fade/blur away little and use a neat soft dark shadowing over the eye soket instead - which is how you would read a face at a distance in real life.
I hope it makes sense. It's also a subjective style thing...
Will those knees deform properly? You would know better than I would...
Dabu, they won't be perfectly round, but they'll look ok for a model of this polycount.
Pior, I'll give that a try!
Thanks everyone, I'll try to hit this guy a little bit each day.
Got some more work done on mine, last pimp before it's finished.
Nah, His stuff is cool as well. It could stand to be a bit less bright still, but i bet it's nowhere near finished, so i'll reserve judgement, heh.
Yours shows off the progress in your texturing, poop, much like your last model. You could darken some parts, like for instance the bottom edge of the folded-over bit of the boot. It lacks depth because of the greyish reflection on there.
ALso some more 1px love on the skirt (for lack of a better word) make make it better, especially on the things hanging from his belt.
The face, on the other hand, can get blurrier still. You're brute-forcing detail into there that somehow flattens the face a lot. The eyebrows also confuse me. He seems to be half frowning, half surprised. That might just be what you're going for though.
I really, really like the boots from the front. despite visible mirroring, the material is spot on!
Great work so far.
if you haven't seen it already, check it out - the final two eps of season two of the Venture Brothers has this guy in it and they are amazing!

found it :-D http://youtube.com/watch?v=4WKrpSvb27E
he appears at 00:28, the one on the ground. Just clipped in there, not the actual episode.
I like how his pale skin is coming out. Nice work!
the lace looks cool in the texture sheet, too, but it loses something in 3d. weird.
no dom war for me! i'll texture him up
i´t would be boring to find out minor minor minor problems.. but hey.. nothing is perfect and thats good
