I searched the forums, and I didnt find anything on this subject:
I have two character meshes - one is a slim character, and the other is a bulky character. I'm wondering if there is a way to take the slim character mesh and shrink wrap him around the bulky character. What I'm trying to do is find a quick way of deforming a mesh to fit another mesh's proportions. A simple scaling won't work because I need certain parts of the body to stay consistent.

Download, install, in the install options, uncheck every entry except the last one, it will add "conform wrap" under Tim's Scripts to your options under Customize UI in Max.
Is there a similar plug in for Maya 09 that works? I found one called PolyShrinkWrap but I keep getting an error saying:
"// Error: The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.
(polyShrinkWrap) // "
Any Ideas?

There are a few more options for this kind of stuff. It's amazing what 4 years will do.
Stand Alone Apps:

I hear topogun is the bees knees and worth the asking price.
http://www.3d-coat.com/retopology/
And 3D Coat has some pretty cool retopology features, check em out!
For Max:
Both of these tools allow you to shrink one mesh to another, and actively edit the mesh while it shrinks and conforms to the target mesh. It's very handy for building a low poly around a high-ish mesh.

If you're lucky enough to get into the beta its pretty awesome, if not use Max Retopo and wait for it to be released, rumored next month some time.
Max Retopo http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/max-retopo
Same general idea as Wrapit but stripped down to core features. It works great, its free go use it.
