Zcubed, that's awesome. I love that guy's icons, they're really cool when large enough.
Could you just list your window manager and theme? And how to replace the explorer's icons?
That is, in case it's just replacing stuff and enabling custom window themes.
Yeah, sure, I'd be happy to give a quick walkthrough...
Windows Style
There are a number of applications that let you change this (Windowsblinds, etc.) but I prefer to use the Neowin Patcher. This will allow you to install visual styles directly rather than using a workaround application.
Icons
A number of applications will allow you to change the system's icons; Icontweaker (Free), Iconphile (Free), Iconpackager ($). The icons that I'm using are from a set called buuf by the super-cool matthan. I like to personalize the icon settings, but a quick search on Deviantart ( ) reveals a good amount of user-created presets for the buuf icon suite; just find one for the corresponding application. I then manually tweak the icons of my more important folders and applications.
More Stuff
At this point you can add the finishing touches to your desktop through the use of apps such as Avedesk or Rocket Dock. I try to keep things as streamlined and resource-friendly as possible; these programs probably won't put much stress on your computer. You can always turn them off during CPU intensive tasks such as rendering.
Hopefully that helped. This is all from personal experience, so it's likely that there are better or faster ways of going about it.
EDIT - Smirnoffka, could you please scale down that image so that it doesn't break the thread formatting. I don't have Opera installed at the moment.
I'm keeping up with naming my desktop icons as people. The recycle bin I'm not responsible for. My friend was over, getting rid of viruses and shit. He renamed, and locked the name for it. I have no idea how to change it. Don't care to, either. Jurassic Fucking Park was me though.
Rick, I like that windshield shot. I turn off the windshield wipers sometimes when it's raining, the rain makes really cool patterns as the wind drives it up the glass.

Nothing special just all blackish. I always found wallpaper sort of boring .
Maybe, I never got good ones? IDK,...

It's been there forever. But yeah, I should uninstall it to save space.
