what software do you character artists mainly use?? Just curious to know..

You'll get a bunch of people replying with 'max, maya, XSI, Silo, Modo' probably in that order of userbase. People might also mention geometry painting packages such as Zbrush and Mudbox. There, I've just saved you an entire rather tedious thread.

Well, i think it's not so bad to see the polycounters preferences. I dare to say that Max would be the most used between all the users on this board.

Mine, as some of you may know is Modo. Is the best for me, the faster in viewports, and i tried hexagon and silo.

A poll would be nice.

Modo is actually one of the slowest as far as viewport performance goes, yeah, its faster than lightwave tho. lol
max and maya can both handle like 10x the ammount of polys, modo gets slow on 300,000 sub-d polys, and cant really handle over 50k raw polys. Unless you have 12 gigs of ram and quad processors.
