Hello,
I used to texture when I was younger and now after 5 years of roaming the earth I thought about getting back into the field, but this time i want to learn modeling. I always wanted to skin my own models, but it seems i just cant get a model going and getting the flow as for some of the people on this forum. Here are some models I have done and I need more help with head modeling. Ive done every tutorial I have seen post on here but i still cant seem to get the flow. My heads are never round and they look horrid. And my bodys dont seem to be that great either.
please help

For your toilet, look at the floor and notice how the tiles are stretched out. Also I can see the seam where the texture repeats - you want to go through in photoshop and make sure that's not visible. Also notice how you have the jagged toilet paper? If you're modelling that don't, just use an alpha map for transparency, and then you can have a more visually pleasing tear there since you don't need to worry about your polycount.
For the head, I would suggest using a photo of a profile and front, setting up image planes and then just working through it until it looks good. There are images here that have show and explain how to use edge loops so just search for those.
It's all about sitting down and spending time IMO.
Is there a place that has good face references for free? also it there a good program to unwrap the uv for a model that works good with 3ds.

what 3ds max are you using? the tools in 6 and up should be fine for the meshes you have shown.
Have you done the tutorials that come with Max?
