I was just wondering why there isn't a thread about it i loved it, it was totally awesome, and i loved the fact that the trailer gave away NOTHING about the movie except that there were dancing penguins and Robin Williams was one of the voice actors... Anyone else see it? From what i saw its #1 at the box office so far made 100 mil already.

I can't get my wife to see anything but scary movies It's getting good reviews, and I particularly like what Giochannel had to say about it. I'll have to check it out this weekend probably... along with Tenacious D.

So it was prety good then? That's good to hear, since i wasnt impressed by the trailer. I understand that it's better not to reveal too much in the trailer but you need a hook to make people want to watch it.

The movie itself I thought was merely "okay". But the CG visuals are truly astounding. It's some of the best I've seen.

I'm sick of hearing about it! 2 of the guys here worked on it, and that's all they talk about. $80 mill, $90mil, 100...

I especially liked the effort that went into varying the backdrops. There was always something new to look at.

I watched it at an IMAX theater, which I recommend. I thought it was very entertaining.

I was amused at two australian actors doing the voice overs for the two characters based on American entertainment icons (and doing a good job at it too) and then reading that the performances were done under license from the rights holders of those (deceased) performers. Since when do you need a license to do a voice impersonation?

wow hehe alot of spoilers in that "review" I'm sure plenty of religious people are going to protest this movie, but you know what, i went to walmart yesterday and saw... Left behind, the video game... and no i don't believe for a second that teaching kids that dogmatic religion is stupid and dangerous is a bad thing. don't mean to derail this thread, i'm sure one of the admins will lock it up in a second once any kind of serious religious discussion breaks out, so if you feel you need to express your opinion feel free to pm me

religion? Where did this come from? I think people are digging WAY too deep to be finding religion in this movie. It's a kid's animated film.
Sure, each penguin had a "heart song" or whatever the hell it was called. Are people twisting that into a "soul" or something? Blah. BS.

Yeah that "psychotic", "insane" liberal thinking apparently really scares the shit out of Massawyrm. When you take your kids to see a movie and you don't agree with the message, maybe it's a good idea to have a talk with them about it about why you don't agree with it?

As much as I found the movie entertaining, that review is dead on. And I'm OK with that.

I thought I was going to see a movie about cute dancing CG penguins on a huge ass screen. Surprise! Yeah, a lot of it was insane. I think kids will have a lot of questions for their parents. I'm not sure kids are taking any important life lesson with them after seeing this. No catchy song. Just the urge to dance uncontrollably. Somethin's got a hold on me! It's the devil!

I just read the review (that's not a review) on Happy Feet that e_x posted. Thought it was pretty interesting. It neither made me want to watch the movie any more or any less.
I'm just curious to know if those of you that have seen the film actually came to the same or similar conclusion as Massawyrm.

After reading that I deffinitly can't wait to see this film. I love it when one dogmatic ideal attacks another about as much as I love circular arguing.
