Ambient Occlusion/Render2Texture/Max 8 or 9

Hi gang.
What is your work flow for an Ambient Occlusion map in Max 8/9 using Render to Texture?
I'm having no problem getting the normal map but for some reason the AO map is coming out black. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. mad.gif

Basically I want to render the texture out at the same time as the normal map. (Meaning I don't want to use the scanline for the render for the normal then have to switch renders,materials and then go to MR if I don't have to).
