Thank you everyone for helping me at this point of modeling. I finally finished my model and would like to know some good tutorial sites for mapping and adding textures to my model.
Here is a shot of my model:

It is 2596 tris. Is that okay? Anything I need to do to clean it up at this point before texturing? Comments and suggestions always welcome.
Final question, is there a program that I can use where I can paint on my 3d model real time when creating textures? Like this image taken from the Lineage2.com website:

Try and make the character as few polygons as possible for the look and detail level you want.
