Wants:
Dual Action, Top fed. 1mm to +15. Easy cleaning, less cogging.
Budget:150.
Actually I want to purchase it within the next few hours. A friend wants to airbrush something for him, and I want to let him know I have gotten the ball rolling.
I remember everyone last time claiming how good the Iwata were. Is this a good airbrush, and site?
I'm using for 3D detailing (think like toy size). Will be using acrylics and lacquers (not waters). I can buy a bigger head for my old one that no longer is good with small details and splutters to reserve for bigger surface area coverage.
I used an Iwata as an illustrator and when I set up my own studio again, that's what I went with. But the $150 price limit may keep you away from better tools unless you can find a decent used one second hand. BTW does that price range include all the equipment or just the spray tool (hoses, compressor, regulator, color jars). If so, you DEFINITELY need to go used and then buy new needles and perhaps a new spray nozzle. Also, stay far away from the small diaphragm type compressors (e.g.; "badger") that are popular for hobbyists. You'd be better off with compressed air cans or a spare tire fitted as a spray tank
