Hey everyone, I am about to start using Maya and I think the structure of a book would help me learn the basics for the program. I am considering buying "Learning Autodesk Maya 8|Foundation" and I'd like to know if any of you use this book, or if there is a better starter book I could grab.

Here is the book on Amazon:

Thanks in advance!

I have the version of that book for maya5. Its good. Its very broad, not targeted toward game res modeling, but it definately gets the job done of introducing you to the program.
Personally I'd recomend working through the online tutorials in the maya helpfile first. They cover all the basic tool usage, and if you've used any major 3d package before then you'll get up to speed pretty quiclky. If you want more after that or a hardcopy reference to get that book, or one of higher level.
