Hey hey,

I'm having issues within Maya 7 where the frame-rates within the app drop horribly when I go in to component mode on a rather low-poly model (10k or less). The issue also happens if I drag the UV window to the second monitor.

The video card is an nVidia 7950 GX2. I tried checking nVidia's site about Maya certified drivers and got this page:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_20010601_2940.html

However, the link to Maya 7 drivers link to Quadro and not GeForce.

Any one have any insight into this issue?

Thanks!

probably a shortcoming of the card you have there in that it can't accelerate ogl on multiple displays. afaik, maya on nvidia has always been quadro-only with a number of known quirks on the gamer cards.

Not true, I ran Maya exclusively on Geforce from 4400 TI to 6800GT with excellent performance. That being said I've heard nothing but bad things about the 7800 series of nvidia cards. Adam the problem sounds familiar I know a guy at work who got a 7800 card and downloaded drivers and they said you don't have a quadro and cancelled the install.

Right - I'm not getting those drivers as they're for Quadro's.
