What is it? (for those that are to lazy to watch the video) CrystalBlend is a highly advanced exporter system for Blender that exports data to the Crystalspace 3D engine entity layer CEL with also utilizes the CelStart binary system.
This lets you create quick prototypes of games (or also entire games) only useing easy scripting (Phython and XML) with little effort and no compiling (Celstart) needed.
Watch the video for a better insight on how quick and easy it really is.
I am pretty sure normalmapping is supported by Crystalspace, and the model they show in the video has it enabled.
Hmm and when do you need c++ when using Celstart?

I was hoping for the type of rapid prototyping that means making models into solid sculptures

Hmm, I might have mixed up some commonly used phrases there

[/ QUOTE ]Looks like you can.. at least 'static' objects with basic collision and physics parameters.
I think he ment "real world" sculptures you can make with these 3D printers.
Or am I totally lost and didn't get it?
hmm doesn't mention normal mapping either, though since its free i can't bitch too much
