Hey guys, in photoshop how do you add more depth to a already generated normal map using the nvidia normal map tool? Is it add just having height checked enough? because it doesnt seem to do anything.
I have heard some artist say to add contrast to the R and G channels but is there some exact number of height you can have in the normal map without going back into max.

Press CTRL_L to get the levels
Select the blue channel from the top left rop down.
Set the output of that channel to 127
Close the Levels palette
Set the layer to overlay, and use the layer opacity.
You can use this method to add lots of detail to your normal map - generate one from a high poly bake then layer on high frequency detail.

However I just can't seam to add extra depth to some of the bricks.
