This is an Xbox Live Arcade game called Space Giraffe. Apparently it's made by Jeff Minter, the same guy who made the xbox 360 music visualisations. I saw this trailer and thought it looked awesome! It reminded me of the hacking scenes from the movie Hackers. At one point in the trailer, one of the text messages pops up saying "OUCH! My Polygons!"
and when a level finishes the victory message says "Girraffetastic!"
Considering how little of a factor Xbox Live Arcade was in my purchasing a 360, it's actually turned out to be my favorite part of the whole system. I think it's great that games like this and Geometry Wars have such a good platform now. Fl0w for ps3 looks really interesting as well.
This whole "casual games" thing really struck me in the face the other day. I was thinking about games that I have really enjoyed in the last year. I came up with Geometry Wars, Lego Star Wars and an assortment of DS games. Those games have all been a lot of FUN right from the get go.
Compare that to the last couple non-casual games I've played, and it makes it really easy to see why the casual games market is booming. I'm curious to know if anyone elses gaming habits have been changing as well with the new surge of arcade and casual games. Or are more people just too busy making games to have the time to play them still?

Are those Galaga sound effects? I think I hear a tie fighter and a wookie in there too.
I have no freaking clue what was happening on my screen.
