our next project might be a 3d NDS product (fingers crossed!) and I'm doing research at the mo into it. Can't find much on the art side of things though, specifically animation- if anyone knows I'd appreciate some answers to these questions:
is there a limit to number of bones/weights you can use with skeletal animation (if its supported?)
do most 3d characters on DS use skeletal or vert animation?
is there a difference in performance hit between the two?
coders know about as much as I do at the moment and theyre busy so I'm just trying to scout out as much as possible.
