From the guys that made Uplink and Darwinia. Basically you are the guy with his thumb on 'the big red button'. You launch nukes all over the shop and get hit by them etc. "London: 2.5 million dead" etc. popping up on the screen.
Definitly looking forward to get it (I have a boxed copy of Darwinia already, and this is definitly a must buy), but the Linux version isn't out till november, so I have to wait a bit more
And especially at that price point you can't make much wrong, right?
I played it for quite a while last night. I love it, but there are some extra things I wish it had. For one, I would've preferred more non-nuclear gameplay. More focus on naval/air battles, or even ground invasion forces, would have been awesome. Politics/diplomacy seem to be non existent.
Defcon 1, and the resulting nuclear war, occur too quickly for my taste.
I purchased the full version after trying the Demo.
Its pretty simple good quasi-retro fun. I think the graphics are beautiful for as simple as they are.

Knowing these guys, it should be interesting.

Download the Demo (60MB) now!
Runs great with Wine, too
Gameplay is even slower than I expected... not 100% sure if I like it that way.

How about a nice game of chess instead?
