With 6 arms, you're going to need 6 pecks, traps, and latisimus dorsi. Otherwise it looks wierd.
Btw, pretty sweet. Though I think the big arms are sort of odd in comparison to the restof his body, and they could use some wrist-bone defineition. Other than that, top notch topology and shape!
New to character modelling? LIES!
Great model dude, but like Makkon said the big arms are a little odd. Personally I like them though, but maybe you could make them just a little smaller? But in the end its your model and your re-design.
Great work!
Cool Idea with the arms man, that seems to be the only difference at face value though which could be a problem, people may not be so inclined to vote for you. Great modelling work though I hope you do well
I dont think your gonna need 6 pecks by the way, nor 6 traps, maybe the lats but a starving indian man probably wont have much in the way of lats anyways.
Great concept.
I like the arms idea, allthough the larger arms may seem supported better if they were the top set of arms, and had the shoulder topoligy to support them.
Either that , or some Yogi "spirit arms" type thing. ethereal and glowing might be nice.
It looks cool, but the bottom arms look very unnatural right now. As Makkon said, you need to work on the anatomy where they connect to the body. At the moment they just kind of jutt out.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions on the anatomy. After staring at it a while I went for the the elongated arms on the top and then tried to figure out where the muscles would go (jury's still out on this).
I'm kind of thinking that the big arms are for melee bashing and the small ones are for spell casting/auras etc.
Okay, here's another pile of stuff. I haven't exactly figured out how to integrate zbrush into my workflow - I suck at straight-up sculpting so I'm trying to do some texture work, then pull out the details with ZB. Its like trench warfare trying to get the hang of that program. anyway, suggestions welcome (especially ZB tips).
Looking great, I love the face texture. I think you can easily convert it into normal map and shouldn't bother sculpting much, except for some more face structure definition.
The hand anatomy is off though. The bones at the base of the fingers are located very high up on the palm. Also, I think the fingers could use some more volume. Shouldn't be too hard to readjust proportions with move tool and put the detailed areas in the right place. Here:
I'm such a noob at the normal map pipeline - like I spent a whole day trying to get the normal maps out of ZB and to display right in maya. Actually, if anyone has a link to good ZB>Maya techinque please let me know.
I'll probably tweak the low-poly and do detailed color map next. (And with my current spec map it looks like Street Fighter: hot-oil wrestling edition)
And man, I've seen a lot of great work popping up in this contest.
I really like this redesign; the multiple, vishnu arms really fit the character. But I do agree that a bit of work on the legs to make him less top heavy would be good
Guess this is it for this guy. This is my first character doing normal maps, so its been a good learning experience. And I wish I could get the transparency to work on the shorts but Maya goes crazy when I use the alpha channel.

That's an awesome re-design. The best re-design I've seen so far in this comp.
Definately looking forward to seeing this entry in 3D.

Just an idea.

I would make the legs a bit more spindly personally
