I've been looking at alot of the pros websites around here and I've noticed almost none of the modelers have demo reels on thier sites. Just jpg after jpg of posed or ready to be posed models with textures thrown on 'em. Is this the best way to go? Can some pros chime in? It kinda makes more sense to me but I wanna know what everyone that's working in the field thinks. Thanks for your time

It's obvious that an animator needs a show reel, but static objects don't need it; animating a camera i believe is a gimmick that i used to adhere to, but have found more success spending the time creating a website with - Renders and Wireframes and Specifications - : Images which you can pack up and email when needed.

It's all just so simple really:)

I dont think it's necessary to have a reel. But having one in conjunction with a nice site layout is a good supplament to your portfolio..i.e: http://www.jelmerboskma.com/

    Keep it simple
