Isn't there some videogame that has this sort of thing? I think it's some kids game where you can make your own pokemon type characters by drawing them... I don't quite remember; I never played the game, but I saw a video of it and I thought it was an interesting concept.
also I saw this program before, I think as a presentation at some graphics event or another, but this is the first time the corresponding applet has been usable.
KeyserSoze: You're thinking of Magic Pengel. I bought that game. My friends and I made a bunch of penis monsters. ha!

Yeah, that's the one.
I watched the video for the app (after playing with it a bit), and it actually has more control than I thought. It's pretty fun to play with. This could make a great app for introducing people to 3D modeling... I think it might be easier for beginners to transition to Maya or Max after learning something like this, to give them a "feel" for 3D.
LOL, I have this one on floppy from long ago. It has to be long ago as I haven't had a floppy drive in years. I think Hawken(maybe) posted this on the old boards. Still a fun little app.
i don't think your post subject indicated just how surprised you were, brome. i mean what does 6 question marks in a row imply? 2 or even 3 certainly says "man, this is a real surprise to me," but 4 or more says "everything i know is wrong." i think you should have gone for 9-10 question marks.

I think there's something similar to this in a more fullfeatured app as well, and i believe the name of it is curvy 3d. I also seem to remember its incompatibly weird piece of zbrush-like interface, which people are sure to love. Then again, it's been a few years, so it might have changed, or it might never have been the way i remember it being. err.
