Is there a way to avoid wasting space on various maps such as normal and alpha. Can you rip a model twice and use a smaller texture is what I'm basicly asking.
Are you asking if you can have several different unwraps on one model? If so, yes, you can. Just add some more uvchannels if you are using maya or max. Just take a quick peek in the manual if you don't know how. Now you can resize those parts that needs extra res for alpha or normalmapping.
