Finally, after 5 years in the game industry, a game will be released with some 3D graphics I created:
http://www.gothic3.com/
Last year I worked 10 months as 3D artist for Piranha-Bytes, I did some work on houses, items and enviromental stuff.
Gothic 1 and 2 were very poular in Europe, especially in Germany, but because of their late realese in the US and bad
promotion, I doubt that part 3 of the game will be an international hit. But I hope some of you will check it out.
If you lile RPGs like Oblivion you should give it a try.

What kind of game is it? And more important for me...is the combat fun?

[/ QUOTE ]Its an RPG. Gothic is more or less a smaller, more tightly designed Elder Scrolls game (Morrowind/Oblivion). Personally, I much prefer them to TES. Combat was simple but worked pretty well in the previous games.
Congrats
nice to see some g3 people running around here

What, you left out the unique characters, difficult morals and paths that play totally different and other cool things that were in Gothic II?!
j/k, no need to start an anti-Oblivion rant here, but I liked Gothic II much, much better.
Is 3 as hard as 2 was? I became stuck in G2 very much near the beginning because you had to wipe out just about any roaming critter to become strong enough to beat Orcs : P
Mit Teil 1 bin ich nie warm geworden, aber 3 muss ich mir mal reinziehen. Bei uns dauerts noch ^^
so I will post some 3D Max renderings, wireframes and so on after the release of the game in the "Pimping and Previews".
@ rollin:
No, not as trainee, full paid freelancer job.
You may ask why I had to left the team? Well, all I can tell you about it is that I didn´t wanted to leave the team, but when the production of a game takes longer than expected, then the developer can get in some trouble. I was the last artist who joined the team in the year 2005 and I was a freelancer, so ...
@ ComradeJ:
I just made the comparison to Oblivion to give some hints about this type of game to people who dont know the Gothic series. Actually I don´t know how far this game will differ from Gothic 1 or 2. I left this project before the gameplay was fully established.

here's hope that g3 sells well, despite being a jowood product. they are true professionals of screwing up.
Congrats. Gothic 3 does sound cool.
congrats! first released game after 5 years sounds really typically 'german games industry' though. sadly.

And if it's really typical german you need a patch to even install it.
if it was typical german game it would be beating the orcs via trade simulation
and good luck with the next title !
