Preditor cloaking devices here we come! But first we have to get past the "pet rock/mood ring" stange.

Yup. You just need to improve the resolution a bit, attach tiny cameras to project what's behind you, and then make a ninja suit out of the cloth. It's going to be the "must have" gift of Christmas 2009.
I would think that for that to work best as camo you would need it to be form fitting so that you dont get cloth over cloth. Just think of it you look like your wearing thermals at first then you turn it on and you disapear!
As a bike lover i would buy a shirt like that. It would be alot safer that the little lights they have now.

The army has experimented with that years ago, it's pointless because it only works from one viewing angle.
Well, you could still use it to camouflage stationary objects, like parked vehicles and tents and stuff. You could use it to hide missile silos and weapons factories from satellites.

No one says it will be perfect, but they could try using an idea like the holographic/prismatic cards were you can view the same image at slightly different viewing angles to give the apearance of 3D or animation, its old tech and very low tech but I wouldn't be suprised if they combined it. Granted it would take a while to develop but you might be able to cover a wide enough range to provide some pretty convincing camo.
its a nice idea but the shirts look very bright.. I doubt they could create convincing bark, dark colours etc. Troops would get lit up like christmas trees

Thats some cool technology! I bet night time joggers/bicyclists would love that stuff!

But I would wear one if they had a robot marching across it. Even a neon robot would be cool.
