Started work on a Sci Fi type Gladiator. Need some tough feedback. I normally do environments and vehicles but I want to round out my portfolio a bit more so going with a character or two should help.
Let me know what you guys think so far. Whats good and what needs improvement.

Generally, looking very good though!
dislike:overall softness to the mesh. Arms are too long, his hands almost touch his knees.
here is what I have so far.

If you're gonig to render with a skylight dont ONLY use a skylight, it looks really bad. Try turning to to 25% or 50% and adding in a omni/point light or two and give the material some specular as well.

Thanks man. I'll be sure to do that from now on so it looks better. I usually just toss a skylight in for quick renders.
Back on topic. I think it is looking a lot better. Keep carving this out, and keep making more defined shapes.
Also, give us some renders from further back once you get that far.
So without further ado...I have started to texture a bit. Still a wip but i'm pushing it along.
Buddy of mine said it looks like a stormtrooper and warhammer space marine had a one night stand and this is the offspring.
I think the arms and legs might be fine if the helmet was smaller, but I agree with what you were getting at. It looks really top heavy.
