To anyone here who might know how to do networking properly, because I'm pretty ignorant on the subject.

Right now I have a wireless network setup at my house. I have one router and it goes to all the computers. My signal was pretty weak, so I bought another router to use as an access point in the middle of the house. However, the orginal router is not picking up the new router which has been set to access point mode. They are the same brand and model, Buffalo airstations, so I don't think the problem would be compatibility issues.

So if anyone here has wireless networking knowledge, I would be thankful if you can shed some light on what my problem might be.

I guess the place to start is if you have any security set up on the main router. If so, is the access point set correctly to match it. If you have any security set up right now, disable it for a short period so you can get things set up, then start working on re-enabling it.
